Social competence, communication, and teamwork abilities are among the top requirements towards our graduates. This was the result of the getProfile project (2003) in which we conducted a survey among managers in large Austrian companies. Hence, a focal point in the Computer Science study program addresses basic traditional and agile project management techniques, the importance of communication and negotiation in team settings, and the role of “soft skills” for successful projects and cooperation, national and international. Numerous masters theses, a dissertation thesis (Kathin Figl), and small projects with industry have been conducted in this field so far. Since 2010 the focus is on constructive communication and cooperation in international projects and teams. Postgraduate educational offerings in this area, integrating intensive face-to-face meetings with employing social media are being offered in cooperation with the Postgraduate Center at the University of Vienna.
