Abstrakt | A cooperative research project in Austria (Universität Klagenfurt) and Ethiopia (Addis Ababa University), funded by OeAD (program: "Cooperation Research Development"), with two research objectives: (1) Qualification Research related to outcomes of formal education systems (TVET), and employability (skill development, school-to-work transition, curricula development, qualification of TVET teachers and trainers, competence-oriented training structures); (2) Country-specific development and implementation of National Qualifications Frameworks (NQF) and their relation to TVET, continuing education/workplace learning and the labour market; In this project, gender as a relevant structural category for understanding and analyzing educational success, labor market participation/employability and social justice is taken into consideration. In the “Employability Study”, carried out by the Ethiopian partner, gender is a variable within the survey. The SDG goals include the achievement of gender equality and empowerment of women/girls and ensuring inclusive and equitable education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. So, gender is a relevant category for understanding and analyzing TVET participation and labor market related data within the work of the Austrian partner (educational permeability through/within NQF), amongst others such as class or age. | |
